Rohto Digi Eye - eye drops for screen fatigue and redness
Rohto Digi Eye
Rohto Digi Eye is an OTC eye drop aimed at people who spend long hours in front of a screen. The formula combines a lubricant with a redness reliever, and the menthol among the inactive ingredients gives a cooling sensation. The manufacturer states the effect lasts up to eight hours.
Key ingredients
Active ingredients
- Hypromellose 0.35% — lubricant for the surface of the eye.
- Tetrahydrozoline Hydrochloride 0.05% — redness reliever, a vasoconstrictor.
Inactive ingredients
Benzalkonium Chloride, Boric Acid, Chlorobutanol, Cyanocobalamin, Edetate Disodium, Menthol, Polysorbate 80, Potassium Aspartate, Purified Water, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Sodium Borate.
Vitamins among the inactive ingredients
The inactive list contains cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) and pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6). These are not active ingredients — the therapeutic effect comes from hypromellose and tetrahydrozoline alone.
A note on the preservative
The formula contains benzalkonium chloride (BAK) — a preservative that can irritate the ocular surface with frequent, prolonged use.

How to use
Put 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye or eyes, up to four times daily. Snap the cap on tightly after each use. Do not store above 25°C.
Who it is for
The product is intended for those who experience dryness and redness at the same time after long screen work. Because of the benzalkonium chloride it is not a choice for anyone looking for a preservative-free formula. Contact lenses should be removed before use.
